Up for your consideration is an extremely handsome Atlas GP-40. This unit is striking cosmetically and performed flawlessly when tested. Runs very nice at slow speeds even though it is NOT equipped with Atlas's slow motor.
It's chassis was developed in 1997 and looks to be DCC ready as denoted on the box and from the picture provided. Lights work in both directions but are dim. If you replace the circuit board with brighter lights that would be corrected. The shell is PRISTINE cosmetically. Beautiful unit, very well done.
This unit runs very smoothly in both directions with a slight low motor hum. Comes in its original Atlas jewel case which is in very good shape. It's a thing I do.My prices are more than fair so please refrain from low ball offers. I test all the locomotives I sell on a large n scale layout and run them at various speeds at a minimum of 10 minutes both directions to ensure that they operate as they should.
Any defects on condition or performance will be noted and listed in this ad. So look at the pics provided closely and feel free to reach out with any questions you may have regarding this unit.
