SCROLL ALL THE WAY DOWN INTO THE LISTING TO SEE 24 enlargeable pictures. This is the awesome articulated Chesapeake and Ohio 2-6-6-6 steam engine that was one of the earliest beasts MTH produced.

Since it is in the Rail King line, it will not need ginormously wide curves to run. You can enjoy this one on O-31 and up without having to get the super wider radius.

This was the first time the 2-6-6-6 had been produced in O gauge. Interesting note: The box was cataloged with the incorrect item number 20-1117LP. The catalog had it as 3017LP. MTH had not yet really settled on the numbering system we all know today. The correct Item number at the time was 30-1117LP which was later converted to 30-1116 (both -0 and -1) in the accounting system.

This early MTH item has the whistle and lots of smoke, but did not have Protosounds. They DID make it so that you could easily upgrade it to protosounds qith a plug in board, but of course that means you have to locate a PS board for it. It has everything else, though! A neat item from MTH's earliest days. It runs conventionally with any of your AC transformers.

It does not have DCS or any other digital system. Two precision flywheel equipped motors. All metal wheels and gears. A DCRU electronic reverse by QSI. Operating die-cast metal knuckle couplers. A realistic coal load in the tender. Stamped metal floor in tender. Metal detail parts such as bell and whistle. Protosounds upgradeable, but NOT included. Original instruction book IS included. Tested and runs, reverses, whistles and smokes. A few paint rubs along some edges as pictured. NO BOX but it does have the original styrofoam case, so it will travel safely.
