G SCALE TUNNEL PORTAL WITH WING RETAINING WALLS. Built to approximately 1:24 scale, this portal could also work well with slightly larger or smaller scale trains and cars.

Built from naturally rot and insect resistant Western Red Cedar, this weather resistant portal has been assembled using galvanized fasteners and waterproof adhesives, then it was finished with exterior grade penetrating stains for additional protection and a heavily weathered look. The center portal section measures 20 1/2" wide by 14 1/4" tall and is 3/4 thick. The two wing walls are each 16" wide by 13 1/4" tall by 3/4 thick and attach to the center section at a 45 degree angle with the included hardware. The openings are 6" wide by 9 1/4" tall, so it will work well with most common garden scale railroads. The width might be a little tight for some larger scales, so you may want to verify that this will work with your equipment.

Tunnel openings measure 7 1/2" from center to center, so your track should be 7 1/2" center to center as well. This portal can be used at the end of your tunnels or as a frame around the entrance to openings sheds or garden walls. You can stake, glue, screw or nail it just about anywhere, and it is a perfect way to add a little character to diesel, electric or live steam operations from just about any era. This portal is not recommended for use as a toy by small children, or for outdoor use in extreme weather conditions. Due to the natural materials and hand finished nature of this item, the tunnel portal you receive may vary slightly in appearance from the portsl shown in the photos.
