Custom Weathered Chicago & North Western Athearn HO Scale GP 7 #1556 withDCC
Custom Built, Super Detailed, & Custom Weathered Chicago & North Western Athearn HO Scale GP 7 #1556 with NCE DCC Installed. It is custom painted CNW green and yellow and custom decaled for the Chicago & North Western Railroad. (CNW) It is locomotive number 1556. This locomotive has been professionally built and upgraded using the standard Athearn model. It has a super smooth and quiet Sagami can motor in it instead of the standard Athearn motor.
No old "Athearn growl" in this model. It has been weathered using all the standard techniques. T his beautiful EMD unit has a North Coast Engineering (NCE) DCC decoder installed too. It is set to respond to the long address which is set to the locomotive number 1556. It is a DCC only model-no sound. The front headlights and rear lights do not light up. Again, no sound-no working lights. It has been super-detailed to the extreme on this one including individual metal grab irons, windshield wipers, lift rings, M U hoses, sunshades, a three-chime horn, brake cylinder lines, MV lenses for the headlights and rear lights, and non-working classification lights. As this particular CNW GP 7 was used for passenger service, it features steam generators, and a modified, larger capacity fuel tank, along with a red non-working mars light on the top of the short hood. The air reservoir tanks have been added to the roof of the long hood along with the correct piping for these tanks to match the prototype. This locomotive was tested on my personal layout and it runs super smooth and quiet. This fine model also has metal Smokey Valley handrails and stanchions. It has been upgraded with metal Kadee #5 knuckle couplers also. No original box or paperwork, just the locomotive model itself. It will be wrapped up carefully in bubble wrap and placed in an appropriate box.
